5150 Platoon Leader - First Patrol

I finally played a game after weeks and weeks of no motivation. This was a
Patrol mission conducted by the Prydian Army. Intelligence indicated that the Shia Khan had established a base in the jungles of Vertanice IV. In response a small patrol was sent to check things out. The patrol consisted of a squad of Retained Knights led by a Noble with a Moth Type 12 heavy machine gun in support.
The table after the patrol entered and the PEFs were placed.
The patrols view of the jungle.
The Khanate won the activation roll and started to move in on the patrol at that point. The first PEF resolution  resulted in "something out there", so the next would be taken with 3 dice.
After the patrol moved up the next turn the second PEF showed itself and the second PEF was resolved.
Two Squads of Khanate Legionnaires with an Atomic Destablizer in support.
The Retained patrol was not having any of it. They won the insight test and pasted the Legionnaires with extreme prejudice.
The patrol continued pushing through the thick jungle. The last PEF resulted in nothing and the patrol set up a perimeter at the other table edge. Things were going extremely well for them so I decided to roll for Khanate reinforcements since the Retained would be sitting there for a turn to fulfill the scenario requirements.
The Legionnaire that ran away must have found his courage and circled around to follow the patrol. He called in an artillery strike on their position resulting in 3 dead. The Retained patrol then made a quick exit back the way they came.

The patrol was a success and it was established that the intel was correct. Not only had the Shia Khan moved onto Vertanice IV, but they were there in force. The Prydian high command has decided that this is unacceptable and a strike force is being gathered for an invasion...

I do love the 2Hour Wargame rules. They're easy to play and very adaptable to whatever you want them to do. I'll sign off until the dropshops start landing...

    1. Ed, is there a setting for 5150? Or can I just use the rules with my own setting?

    2. There is a setting for 5150, but it is not at all necessary to use it. The rules, like all THW rules, are very adaptable to what ever you want to use them for. For instance in this game dropships can only carry a single squad by the rules, but I plan to use the dropship stats from Patrol Angus an carry a platoon in them. All I did for the weapons was use the stats from similar weapons. With the THW rules you use what you want and disregard what you don't. You can even mix rules from different sets to accomplish the vision for your game. The support for all the rules is also unparalleled. The authors regularly check the forums and answer an questions that come up. Hope that helps...
